Program Officer

ASN has been implementing SHASHAKTA Project partnering with Kindernothilfe (KNH), Nepal in Dhanusha district from 2018 and currently looking for the following experienced and dynamic team player for the aforementioned project in Dhanusha district. 

The project uses the right based Self Help Group (SHG) Approach and has its various interventions focused to enhance the living standard of women, young mothers, married girls, and children through their social, economic & political empowerment.

The Aasaman Nepal is looking for self-motivated, result oriented, and hard-working Nepali citizens for the following positions:

  1.  Position: Program Officer- 1 Nos (Female Only)

Duty Station: Dhanusha

Key responsibilities: Oversee project activities to ensure that the project’s activities and tasks are carried out effectively in order to meet the project’s goals and objectives.

  • Monitor and update monthly financial report and project’s progress to Line Manager.
  • Monitor project expenditure and contracts/agreements with project partners and counterparts on project implementation.
  • Conduct data compilation, authentic field information/case studies and prepare monthly/quarterly and annual project reports.
  • Assist the project in activity planning framework and strengthen the implementation of the target group including work plan preparation.
  • Mobilization of group to lead in social initiatives and put their demands/plan in Settlement/Ward level.
  • Support to community in effective & timely implementation of approved activities.
  • Involve in the planning process during the planning and endorsement of the project’s plan through ward level to Municipality.
  • Ensure timely payments of project specific expenditures at the field level as per the approved budget limit based on the guidelines and procedures.
  •  Provide information on regulations, decisions and legal decrees relevant to project activities and approaches to the focal person.
  • Coordinate the monitoring of implementation of the project work plan, and ensure that project monthly monitoring report are submitted by project partners as well as coordination between KNH and partners.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the Project focal person.

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant working experience, particularly in women empowerment, covering the significant aspects of the job preferably with NGO experience in project implementation in districts of Province 2.
  • Excellent skills in training manual development, training delivery reporting, and computer (Ms-office, email, internet) skills.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and staff management skills
  • Strong communication skills in Nepali and English
  • Facilitation skills

Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.

Age Limit: Candidates between 21 years to 45 years are only eligible to apply for the above position, depending upon the nature of job they will carry.

All employees must adhere to child safeguarding in person’s provisions covered in the project agreement.

Monitor staff and partners’ and ensure adherence to Aasaman Nepal’s policies and internal procedures, protocols, Aasaman Nepal’s code of Conduct with special attention to Safeguarding Standards and Procedure, Case Handling Framework, Child Protection and Do No Harm Policies. Also, immediate reporting and redress of any complaints and issues based on its severity.
