Local Initiative for Community Empowerment & Development project (LICED)

Project Summary: 

Local Initiatives for Community Empowerment and Development (LICED) is implemented with support of  the Lutheran World Federation is being implemented in Shahidnagar Municipality of Dhanusha .The project aims to enhance dignified living of the Musher & Marginalized  and other minorities through socio economic empowerment and advocacy for their rights and access to resources/services for socio-economic transformation and dignity.

Project Period: July 2021 to December  2024

Target Populations:

Marginalized Dalit and Indigenous community members (Dalit,Janjati,PwDs, Single women and Migrant poor youth)

Thematic Area(s):

Livelihoods, Quality Services ,Protection and Social Cohesion.

Overall Objective/Goal:

In line with SDGs, people of Nepal, living in just societies, in peace and dignity, united in diversity, are able to improve their quality of life individually and collectively in a sustainable manner.

Specific Objectives/Outcomes:

  • Priority populations achieve resilient livelihoods promoting climate smart socio-economically viable options for livelihoods enhancing resiliency to all forms of shocks and stresses.
  • Priority populations are capable to have access on government and other duty bearers for services, resources and opportunities at the individual, community and institutional levels.
  • Priority populations are empowered to build local voices for actions, improved local governance and to advocate for their rights.
