‘Planning Effective Delivery of Education in a Future Federal State’
Government of Nepal (MoE) supported by UNESCO Nepal and in a coordination of Aasaman Nepal organized a two-day Capacity building workshop on “Planning Effective Delivery of Education in Future Federal Nepal” on 30th and 31st August 2014 at Lahan, Siraha and 17th and 18th of September 2014 at Pokhara, Kaski.
The main purpose of the workshop was to increase understanding of the participants on how education should be planned in a federal structure of Nepal. The workshop wanted to collect feedbacks from the participants on education model in federalism, create awareness and understanding amongst the stakeholders, and discuss the implications of the future federal state structure in planning and managing education, establish options for inclusive coordination mechanisms during any potential future transition and put in place the resources for planning and building the capacity of main stakeholders.
The participants of the workshop held in Lahan, Siraha were from Morang, Dhanusha, Udaypur, Sindhuli and Siraha. The participants of the workhop held in Pokhara, Kaski were from Kaski, Tanahu, Lamjung, Baglung and Parbat. A total of 81 participants and four resource persons represented various government and non government organization and institutions in the workshop.
The overall objectives of the workshop were:
- To increase understanding of the participants in “Education in a Federal Structure of Nepal”
- To share the mapping report on Federalism and Education in Nepal conducted by UNESCO Nepal
- To share other countries’ experience on Education and Federalism
- To share the report on Education in Federal Context in Nepal.
- To collect feedbacks from the participants on Education Model for Federalism
